Labs & experiments catalog

Catalog of Virtual Reality Labs and Experiments, from Primary to High School

Science experiments in VR headsets, organized by lab, topic and age group. Every experiment has an inquiry question, hands-on action and a clear reason to be in virtual reality: a scale no classroom has, a new point of view, or an experiment a regular lab cannot run.

70 experimentsAges 8–18Hebrew · Arabic · English and more

This catalog presents labs available today alongside content in planning and development. Listing content here is not a commitment to develop it or to a release date.

More in the library

Chemistry, biology and mathematics

Experiments from more subjects in the proLabsXR library.

Ages 13–15
Chemistry

Acidic, neutral or basic?

Inquiry question
How can you tell whether a solution is acidic, neutral or basic?
What students do
Students predict, add indicator drops to each sample, classify by color and confirm with a pH meter.
Why VR
Chemistry with no hazardous materials and no cleanup, and every student tests for themselves.
Ages 14–15
Biology

The Cell Detective

Inquiry question
How do the cell membrane and enzymes respond to an unknown sample?
What students do
Students pipette samples, observe the membrane channels and the enzyme at work, and compare results in a table and graph.
Why VR
Students step inside the cell and see structures and processes the eye cannot see.
Ages 13–15
Mathematics

How many pyramids fill a prism?

Inquiry question
How does a pyramid's volume compare with a prism of the same base and height?
What students do
Students measure base and height, predict, then fill a pyramid and pour it into the prism until it is full.
Why VR
Solids in space that students can hold, fill and turn in their hands.
By age group

Real progression from primary to high school

The same topic returns at every level, each time in more depth.

Ages 8–12

Primary school

Students notice the direction of change: what grows, what shrinks and why. Lots of hands-on action and surprising scale.

Ages 12–15

Middle school

Students measure, log results in a table and find a rule, such as the law of the lever or the law of reflection.

Ages 15–18

High school

Students calculate with formulas, work with vectors and check how close a measurement comes to the calculation.

How we chose the experiments

Only experiments where virtual reality adds real value:

  • Hands-on action: students assemble, rotate, move and measure
  • Spatial thinking: fields, rays and solids in 3D
  • A new viewpoint or scale: from space to the ground, from a seesaw to the solar system
  • Experiences a classroom can't offer: hazardous materials, costly equipment or giant setups

Showing something in 3D is not enough on its own, so the catalog has no tours or videos without active inquiry.

FAQ

Labs catalog FAQ

What is in the labs catalog?

Science experiments in VR headsets, organized by category, lab, topic and age group: forces and simple machines, light and optics, electricity and magnetism, the Earth, Moon and Sun, plus experiments in chemistry, biology and mathematics.

Are all the experiments in the catalog available today?

No. The catalog combines labs available today with content in planning and development, and it is not a commitment to develop anything or to a release date. To check what is available for your school: service@prolabsxr.com.

Which ages are the experiments for?

Ages 8 to 18. Each experiment lists an exact age range, and topics build in progression: primary students notice the phenomenon, middle schoolers measure and find a rule, and high schoolers calculate and analyze.

How is a VR experiment different from an on-screen simulation?

In the experiments we chose, students do the action themselves: assemble a setup, turn a mirror, move a compass through space or jump from space to the ground. A flat screen can't offer that in the same way.

Which headsets and languages?

Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest 2. The labs support Hebrew, Arabic, English and more.

Can we request an experiment that is not in the catalog?

Yes. Tell us what you teach and we will look at it together. Teachers can also design new experiments with the proLabsXR AI experiment creator.

The catalog is updated regularly, and content is added gradually. The labs support Hebrew, Arabic, English and more. To find out which labs are available for your school now: service@prolabsxr.com
